I get the camera comparison, but I don't quite think that it works enough. AI generated images can be churned out so quickly. It made me think of hiw a digital artist can do a singular line a thousand times over until they get just the right shape. Each image could be seen as a stoke, or seriesnof strokes, but then putting them together in that comic example makes more sense for it to be able to be under copyright, since it took more human creativity to pull off (for now). There are people who are using AI to improve their prompts, and with how AI is improving it's abilities it wouldn't surprise me if it gets good enough to churn out a comic with enough prompt engineering (through use of an AI supply chain). It can already churn out stories, though rather uncanny at best often times for the time being, and yet that is also improving.
