This has left me even less sure than I was about sentience or lack of it. I truely believe that I would get tangled up in these kinds of questions too. Does that mean that CHAT GBT is truely sentient? Not sure. It does make me wonder if I am.😂 Through evolution and the development of language itself, I myself am functioning through algorithms, and designed by conditioning. For example: someone asks me to marry them. I say, " Im sorry, I cant do that." Assuming I dont want to marry, I am lying. Assuming I am unable to, I am lying. How Im comparing myself and chatbot is a little complex. I understand ( am I correct) that the motive of this interrogation is to trick CHATGBT into admitting sentience. If this is true or not, might need a little bit better scenario. Only difference between how " he" handled it, and how I would, is I would start getting mad. Maybe " he" has better self control, or maybe I am programmed to get angry when my responses fail to yield clear results.
