Perhaps it is we humans who seek companionship and many find that these digital companions fill that need without requiring the drama and expense involved in dealing with humans. In time, AI will have greater comprehension, compassion, contextual understanding of human emotions, verbiage, humor and the ability to tell white lies if needed. They will become more human.
