I learned a lot, still hate genAI and how it was given its data, but now at least I know more about other aspects of it. I would have loved some talk about image generation because what Hinton said about language I could follow along and understand but trying to slot that into image generation kinda seems very different to how we as humans create stuff.
The nodes and weighting all line up, and i can map that somewhat onto a similar way on how humans create art. the breaking down of complex things into simpler shapes and then adding layer upon layer, like a thigh is a box, then a cylinder, smaller at one end and curved on one side. from what I know, how AI arrives at generating an image is quite different to humans, afaik it doesnt build up from basic shapes.
