As a disabled person who can't do much and almost everything has to be done for me I was still able to find meaning in life (I wasn't disable from birth, just in last 10 years my health gave up on me). The problem we have currently is that most of things that could make us happy are tailored made to make money e.g. games are not fun to play unless you pay for extra packs, props and shortcuts. The problem is not what we would do if we do not work but how our world is design to make us feel, that we still matter, again analogy to my disability: most of society thinks I am a drain on the them because I can't work, only my therapists and the closest to me will be happy for me if I use my cane instead of a wheelchair to go for a short walk, anyone else would point out: so you can walk why are you using a wheelchair. The problem is that media, companies, and politicians, sometimes even our own families have a wast interest in polarising our perception of the world, instead of nurturing and growing humanity and goodness in each of us. So for humans to be happy when AI is doing all for us would have to be the incentives of our meaning in life that need to change, our drive for anything and motivation needs to change so we can be happy. For me it is art and I know AI can create images in sceonds but for me the drive is not the result of how the image will look like but the process of me painting. I think this is what we are lacking as society and that is what will be so hard for people to let go: status, ego, prestige of their jobs. Do not get me wrong: I do not support AI, I do not want super intelligence that would benefit only few and AI that do not care about humans, we need to stop development of it and concentrate on narrow AI. When we grow as human beings and let go of materialistic gains and focus of being happy with ourselves this is when we can start thinking of creating super intelligence who would love us and we would love it. I hate current state of AI and how unscrupulous are the people behind it.
