AI can not do qualitatively more less complex pictures if it is not the head of a girl in tile anime and not a kitty.
Artists also inherit each other's styles and learn to develop their own.
It seems to me that now AI can take more work from subject photographers but not commercial illustrators.
If a person is satisfied with a poor quality copy of a painting by some master, received for a subscription to AI, then he would obviously not order a unique work.
Illustrators and artists can use AI as a reference for their work, just like they take photos from google or Pinterest.
