If people liked ghibli's stories and that made the art iconic for that reason... Then people wouldn't be creating unrelated images in "ghibli" ai art... They would be using different styles of art to create ghibli story themed images....
People tend to take the aspects of something they like the most when they duplicate or are inspired by something and then they mix it with other things that the individual person likes to make it their own.
