Automation is nothing new. Replacing people in mundane repetitive tasks is considered “progress”. Cashiers. Assembly line workers. Now trucking and taxis. In a generation kids will be asking “grandpa you mean someone actually sat in a vehicle to drive it from point A to point B?” just as we tell our kids today that we used to go to a store to rent magnetic tape so that we could watch movies at home.
