I've been using computers for more than 40 years, and have been online for 30 years.
I have online accounts with government, banking, and retail organizations.
But, I can not verify an account with OpenAI, because they idiotically require the receipt of a verification code via text message.
In other words, OpenAI requires you to have smartphone access to verify your identity. I do not own, nor desire to own, a smartphone.
It seems odd to me that of the dozens and dozens of online accounts I have which are fully functional, OpenAI is the only one that can't handle the task of verification that all of the others do.
