In order to see AI art as art, you have to define art only as a product with no regard for process, which is not how art has been approached at any time in the past.
A sunset can be beautiful, but we don't call it art, because it was not crafted by a person.
A painting of a sunset can be ugly, but we DO call it art, because it WAS crafted by a person.
An AI generation of a sunset will be beautiful to some and ugly to others, but it is not art.
To separate art entirely from the very concept of an artist is a hyper-capitalist way of thinking that reduces everything to a widget that simply needs to be manufactured as easily as possible by whatever means necessary. It's sad and gross and deprives us of one of the most profound parts of being a person.
