Therefore I think the argument would be stronger by replacing this incorrect comparison of 97 to 140 decibels being a “quick jump” and instead pointing to the health realities people are presently living through, and referencing simple workplace protection requirements which millions of people are familiar with (especially working class in construction, transportation, etc). Examples from cities who are being made literally physically sick by the low, constant vibrating hum of data centers is critical. We are not worried about a data center suddenly rocketing to a painful 130+ decibels. We all should be VERY concerned about the VERY REAL damage this insidious noise pollution has on people and ecosystem animals living around it and that their impact extends for miles even as the decibel exposure decreases.
