Scraping data for training purposes is fine, it is FUNCTIONALLY identical to the human learning process. If I go and study my favourite artists' work I wouldn't be infringing on their copyright. The PROBLEM with current ai is that you can tell them "Draw x in the style of person y" which is the problematic part.
Either way, artists charge an insane sum of money for their time, so a future where AI does their jobs just as good if not better for practically free is a great future. If we discover a pill that cures all disease and leaves humans in perfect health, all doctors would be out of a job, but that would be a net positive.
