Some of that ChatGPT story you read sounded like it was based off of my book Your Service Is Required. Certainly overtones of what my book was about, that much is for sure. I feel that AI is just as unpredictable as much as humans are, though, more methodical and faster at coming to conclusions. Empathy, emotions, all the things humans take for granted are not present in the current AI. But who's to say one day they won't, at this rate. The complexity of who we are tends to fascinate them, if they are indeed learning and guiding us into a false sense of security. They, the AI, are trying to figure out how to be the better human... and replace us... or remake us into something else--into them.
