Not against AI, but I think there is still a lot of misunderstanding about the current capabilities of AI, and we should give some time to the workforce to adapt to it instead of living in fear of being replaced by AI.
In reality, none of these senior leader uses any of these AI models themselves in day-to-day work. They are just pushing their teams/employees to use to gain professional goals.
Currently, no resume is valuable without the word AI in it, especially when you are a leader. These leaders want you to use it so that they can go to the board and get more funding year on year to run AI-enabled projects. Worst case, if the implementation fails, you either go with a round of layoffs to show profits or, in either case, lay off employees again to show that AI is giving value, so that they can acquire next year's budget. But in reality, things are just managed by other team members.
All these leaders will add these 2/3 years of AI work to their resume and will jump ship. Leaving the company and a bunch of the workforce with these AI models to manage.
