Once firms have replaced a critical mass of their employees with AI, the AI providers will have said firms by the balls. They will use their government influence to get away with forming a price-fixing cartel (so firms can't get a better price elsewhere) and then squeeze the AI-reliant firms mercilessly on subscriptions. These firms will quietly attempt to rebuild their human workforces as a bargaining chip. Humans will become kind of like HR departments, i.e., a cost center designed to protect against a very specific risk (AI gouging and lawsuits, respectively). Meanwhile, if enough men are rendered permanently jobless and the government does nothing, sabotage of utilities and data centers (and perhaps un-aliving of board members) will follow, creating reliability issues. UBI, meanwhile, would be the worst possible idea as it would provide the government with a way to pacify protest in the begining and crush protest later.
