It's creepy to me because human nature makes one anthropomorphise animals and things easily.
It's not a bad thing, as long as one remembers the reality - just as one shouldn't put one's head in a tiger's mouth because it seems friendly, IMHO one mustn't forget that these stochastic parrots are not conscious.
Of course the environmental aspect is not trivial, and if smartphones weren't addictive enough already, this adds an entirely new level.
Once the LLM can be instantiated in your phone it'll at least not be a huge security risk....or will it? I predict they'll create a version that never has to go online and will be put in dolls or other objects....
