With all due respect, AI will enhance and augment doctors’ abilities more than it will replace them.
Your point about Plastic Surgery is a perfect case in point— AI will improve surgical planning and level the field for those without an innate aesthetic sense.
More doctors can be “House” and provide higher quality care, and concentrate on the patient-doctor relationship and human insights that AI will have a difficult time matching. Mammograms, CT scans, MRIs, and pathology cases will be read more accurately with human supervision and signing off on the more complex cases.
AI in medicine will be overall positive for doctors and their patients.
