What we need to do is reason with the super wealthy with a vested interest in AI which I know is an hilarious & ironic thing to say but obviously we can’t appeal to these people’s hearts as their wallets are where their hearts should be but we should be able to make an argument appealing to their wallets with the debate of how AI will affect their profits long-term if it is not stopped or at least slowed down or directed in the areas it should be used right now. I think when it comes to the CCP in China going all in on AI I think it’s going to backfire on them in a very disastrous way and they will try and cover it up akin to how the Old Soviet Union tried to cover up Chernobyl as history either has a habit of repeating itself or at least echoing in slightly different ways but very similar outcomes
