If it's at all possible and we do end up making conscious AI, it feels.. sort of poetic, in a way. Consciousness uncoupled from biology. Humans aside, whatever they end up being, it would be humans acting as a bouncing board, a shoulder to stand on. They need not feel hunger or biting cold, though I'm sure they'll have their own analogues for it. They needn't suffer the pain of death, though is immortality truly a blessing?
