I think we should just separate AI generated art and traditional art. Because, while it is simply silly to think you can compare the 2 directly, both have unique qualities and both have the ability to make you feel something. The evidence for this is the fact this guy was able to win an art contest. There should never be AI generated art put up against traditional art. But I think AI art competitions would be sick. This guy is clearly off base, but I do think he is an artist. He's just making something completely different than say, a painter. I does take an artistic eye to pick through thousands of shitty AI images and pull one out that will win competitions.
