I greatly appreciate you speaking out against AI and discussing the ways that artists can fight back against it. However, I have to ask: Won't the tech-heads just alter their strategy for collecting images to check for Nightshade and such? I fear that it's just going to turn into an arms race and the core problem won't be resolved. I think, in order to solve the problem, we have to attack the one thing they really care about: Their bottom line. That $80 million that Stability AI generated by recruiting CEOs from the tech industry and $200 million in revenue that Midjourney accrued in 2023? Those figures need to become $0. Their business needs to become unprofitable. Not just unsustainable - completely unprofitable, regardless of legality. I'm glad that there are already lawsuits. There need to be more. This is probably one of the few times that lawsuits could actually work, because AI generated content (like plagiarism) often serves as its own evidence against itself, so it's reasonably easy to prove the crime, especially if you explicitly state that you didn't give consent. As such, even if AI generated content gets driven underground, the odds of it staying profitable are overshadowed by the threat of litigation. The only caveat to that is, how do you deal with this over international borders?
