Once, out of curiosity, I tried out an AI program at writing a short story. The result was ... okay. Nothing more. Passable. All the prescribed elements were there, and the grammar was correct throughout. But something was missing, and I've been trying to figure out exactly what that something was. Heart? Empathy? The best way I could put it is "empty breath." There was no "voice" to it, no reflection of unique human experience.
So, my question would be, will AI be able to understand intimacy? We humans, generally speaking, are still struggling with that one, in my view. Some are better than others, of course, but are they in the majority? Excellent point about social skills, which is the most important issue in my view and can't be faked.
