admittedly I was somewhat ignorant to what the extent of this all was. I knew it became a trend for people to make fancy selfies with that new app. I knew that to some degree it was scrapping existing art, i didn't see it as problematic because the low price they were asking, I figured was to run their servers. I didn't know there was actual scum out there making money off of living current artists. I know people got really upset about the whole concept. I still think there was a bit of an over reaction, its good most of us are standing together, but its important to note the ai isn't perfect. More importantly copyright laws already exist to protect the things we create. For those who were ripped off, they need to seek legal action, those machine learning companies need to be served and disclose exactly who's art they used, and either buy licenses or pay the artists what they're owed. People said the same thing about digital artists not too long ago (some still do) I think in just a few years it will become another tool in the toolbox. Its fun to play with but we shouldn't rely on it. After all you're the one who told us we should get better anyway we can, get learnt, get turnt. lol
