Businesses will have accept social responsibility for people left behind or the whole economy will collapse. People will be losing jobs, and income in mass. This will radically reduce purchasing power of the whole population and the entire economy will ultimately collapse.
Because of that, a revolution in taxes is needed. Instead of taxing profits only, corporation tax should be also calculated by taking into account the number of employees/ jobs created. If the business generates a huge profit but with minimum or no human labour it should be taxed heavily. The more humans you employ the less tax you pay from your profits. Taxes collected that way could be used to pay universal basic income or generous unemployment benefits to people losing their jobs because of AI and automation.
