Actual artists will always be in demand in some capacity over AI engines, and "the starving artist" was already a well-known trope LONG before AI ever graced the internet.
I think the real reason so many artists are angry is because they always assumed that their jobs would be one of the only ones perpetually safe from automation and new technology, only to have that band-aid ripped off in the span of less than 2 years.
