Beyond the blatant theft, beyond the environmental damage, beyond the cringe as fuck smugness of AI "artists" gloating about how they're "ahead of the curve" or some shit... all of this generative AI is making people actively dumber. That's what pisses me off the most. Students are asking a machine to generate essays, they're seeking validation from an AI chatbot made to always cater to them, they're asking a plaigirism machine to write a book for them. They don't use their brains at ALL during this, they are actively giving themselves brain damage. Form a thought! Get an opinion, MULL OVER AN IDEA OR CONCEPT, and articulate it on your OWN. I don't give a fuck what Grok said, I asked YOU what YOU thought of that book you like, not the MACHINE.
