My company pushes us to use AI, so I did recently to clean up several thousands lines of dead code. I did it in a day, while my previous abandoned attempts to do it manually wasted much more time. My impression: do not let juniors use it. Juniors have to learn ropes and get hands calloused. But for a senior dev, who can split a job into a series of small tasks and check the results at each step - yes, AI is a useful tool. No, it will not replace me in decades. If management thinks otherwise and fires me - they will see it on company bottom line, eventually.
