AI Art is not theft when you are using artworks released to the public, or art that artists themselves have released to the public or the tool is used on your own work to help you improve it, as we have been using tools for ages. But if you instead pull huge imagesets from the internet without permission to train a model, that's theft. And don't equate machine learning with human learning, a human can learn from Artist A and go on and produce something unique, AI cannot create anything it has not been on. It can combine, it can mutate, but it can't create from imagination. And while you can argue that we can't create from something we've never seen, we can still work to create abstract and unique art that has not been seen as a style ever.
