Artist here. There’s really only one good argument I’ve heard in favor of AI, and that’s this: the idea of copyright is a fundamentally flawed one. All the best artists copy. Therefore, what makes AI that much different from a human learning the craft? If wielded by someone who doesn’t have malicious intentions and isn’t doing it for the favor of some tech megacorp, what’s the harm? Intent matters here.
