Having used the latest "AI", im fairly confident that the hype train is maybe a year or two from total collapse. It still cant replace things like coders, at best theyre a replacement for the level of skill that they import from abroard to depress salaries.
Ive seen no explanation for how they plan to make the order of magnitude improvements they would need. It would require vast amounts of quality data, because the current AIs all suffer model collapse of they consume their own slop. And quality data is almost impossible to get now that AI slop has contaminated the internet.
