Well lady, AI ain't gonna destroy us, not in the dystopian, Terminator or "I Robot" way. It's gonna be people that use AI. But even that is just wrong, as these things called AI are not AI, they are tools that seem intelligent but are not more intelligent than your dishwasher intelligent, or autopilot. Autopilots can start and land an aeroplane, it's not done, but they can.
These things are heuristics, extremely well made and capable heuristics, combined with psychological algorithms that make for great pretend. But, and data shows this, they all have a learning disability, they can't, so it seems overcome some basic hurdles. Hurdles that make them confined in a space that's not AI, not intelligence, but a machine tool. Can that tool made to kill? Sure, like a hammer, a kitchenknife, a car; like any tools can be made to do so.
Given all that, and looking to China, which uses AI differently, i.e. for actual automisation, just like mechanised loom, but also that have solutions that use 1/10th of the power and still do the stuff others do, it becomes apparant that this is just a money grabbing scheme and not helpful to anyone but the rich.
