The government can easily afford UBI right now, but they "don't believe in welfare" and would rather give that money to the already mega rich so they can buy even more yachts! Capitalists economists wanted UBI in the 1960s and Nixon agreed! It was blocked because corporations wanted to keep people poor, dependant and desperate!
