Since there really is really no AI for the sake of calling anything intelligence" with today's compute technology and algorithms, just not, no where near being true sentient yet. Is going to take the tech away for serial data flow, mimic real time compute in more a parallel and analogous form, hybrid tech more like the brain works. Is not hos fast can compute is today's binary serial data, parallel computing today is really still multiple channels serial data, more bandwidth but what I am referring to, more like a true neural network. the brain work in more a true analogue, parallel but at a speed more like an IBM XT, slow but can do more at the same time. And get away from thinking in general computing functions compared to how the brain works, we have not tech that can currently relate, is going to be some form or hybrid organic artificial some form of neuron cell structure that builds itself, memory and pathways based on learning to eventually become self aware. Could this be dome artificially in software, not traditional programming we have today, going to be a huge step in software programming to get to that point. Keep in mind, is not just the nerve, neuron and glial cells, the neuron pathways, is how the body knows how to build them, this is where we have to go into the cells themselves and learn more about those specific Cell DNA programming, how does an environment, what a mind is exposed to in early development, how does the cells know how to build what pathways, how, for memory, and memory alone does not process information, what and how the brain develops to process what it learns, different part of the brain, to cortex, etc. We still know so little how the mind works how develops we are far off from having a true sentientAI, AI today and near future is still only based on predictive results that have to be programmed. But I will say, that admitting not knowing near enough, I am not ever going to say something is impossible, Better to be on the cautious side with AI anyway, we do not need to let skynet get control LoL.
