As a software developer who knows a thing or two how AI works - AI is just a tool. It doesn't steal art, it is just a tool, like Photoshop. I remember when art professors used to fail students for digital art as "not real art". Same arguments that are used against AI now, minus the stealing part which isn't even true but widely accepted by ignorant people who don't understand how AI works and how mind shatteringly awesome it actually is. Stealing your art to make a new picture would be an impressive technological feat. AI is 100x more impressive than that, because it actually LEARNS how to draw. Just like you do. Just like you can learn to draw a Pikachu - AI learns. It doesn't steal a picture of a Pikachu. It doesn't combine 10 images of pikachu to make an 11th. It learns what shape, size and color Pikachu is, and what lines and curves need to be drawn to represent it. And because it also learned from millions of images of both Pikachu and other animals and objects from every possible angle - it can draw a Pikachu in any pose, because it actually has a feel how it's body is structured. It knows where's the leg, arm and head, and how would they act on a creachure like this. I digress. AI is a tool. The artistic expression comes from the tool's user. It is here to stay. It WILL replace 95% professional artists, because frankly, AI makes better, cheaper and faster art than those 95%. Deal with it. 😮
