But we already know what conscience is, or where feelings come from, and all that... We know what the brain is made of, about neurons, hormones, neurotransmitters like dopamine and serotonin and electrical signals within the brain. People already know where things like love and the will to do things come from. It's complex and difficult to learn, but not a mystery.
An AI can be made to take shortcuts and achieve some similar results in different ways.
