i'm a software engineer that is required to code with AI and I've spent way more time on a feature just to de-AI the code changes and make it actually work cleanly. Some common things are AI would make way more changes than required, muting error messages to pass tests, make changes that break other features, write esoteric code, miss requirements that are implied, etc. Features from our org is releasing much more slowly and much less reliably now.
But I dont really care, it's not my company. I get paid to waste this extra time anyways. And company doesn't care because they just care about ai usage metric and not at all about actual output productivity.
