It does overlook how radical government action would become as unemployment crept towards 10%, let alone 15 or 25%. I believe that government regulation that prohibits replacing humans with AI is something we will see, if not flat out anti-AI development restrictions too. Plus I don't see how you'd see stocks soaring with anything even approaching double-digit unemployment, since it would dominate the news and cause a contraction in spending in people who weren't even in jobs that were eminently threatened by AI, for the dread that they might some day be.
