I am on the artists side, but I don't think the NFT metaphor is quite right. I think it's more like MP3. In that metaphor we are currently in the Napster era where it's the wild west and people are just taking/sharing whatever they can, but it did eventually get to somewhere new that the artist, label, consumers agreed on (though the artists really aren't happy and had no choice, but to agree to). I do see a future for ai, but I think they will have to come up with an ethical application. Example: I do see this could address the "barrier of entry" argument if you're talking about independent film makers vs studios. If an independent film maker could go to a setting and take a ton of their own footage, then film actors and dump all their own footage into a file for ai to draw from. Then, as long as the actors understood their likenesses would be used, the film maker could arrange the images in a way to tell stories using those images. Hopefully those ai actors work on a percentage of future earnings, rather than a flat fee.
