On the disabled artist point - if AI was assisting in the usage of a tool - for example having really good voice commands to use photoshop, or being able to interpret your eye movement as actions on a screen or being able to very vividly describe what’s happening on screen - that would be amazing.
The problem is the *generative* part - the part where the human decision agency and intention is removed from the creative process.
I am a designer and illustrator of over 15 years now. The things I would LOVE for AI to take over and assist with are all the boring busywork stuff. “Take these assets change the colour profiles to work across these devices and print, and resize and compress them to be ready for production.” If I could get AI to do that part for me? Amazing. That requires no artistic ability it’s just boring tech production stuff.
