Having been working at NN since 1992 I think Geoffrey knows what he is doing. I would like to see an interviewer recognizing they know so little that it would be better to get someone added to the conversation so there is not such a steep cognitive difference between the "basic" question and "advanced" answer. There is an incredible amount of knowledge not so obvious in each response that Geoffrey gives, yet the questions seem to be somewhat disconnected, not really exposing the real brilliance and detail that Geoffrey can share with us. I realize that the interviewer is a great interviewer, but I think he was out of his depth on the topic and this interview could have been magic, but turned out to be kind of mediocre. Just the question about probability of existential threat by AI, can be unpacked into the "hunter vs prey" of AI trying to avoid being circumvented and humans avoiding being eliminated and the strengths and weaknesses in each of those roles for each of those players. Then the other question is how can we use AI to fight AI. There is so much more that sadly we did not hear 😞
