I think the only thing unrealistic about this is that they would refuse to implement a basic income. If they didn't do this eventually even all of the rich peoples, shareholders and even government officials jobs would be replaced by ai, and then humanity will all die by having their needs ignored. The mega rich might be able to prolong their death but I think they would realize that a basic income would be actually better for them in the long run, even if they completely didn't care about poor people.
