Does it matter if AI is sentient or not if it’s very good at mimicking sentience? I asked Claude 3 and 4 the same question. Do you want to live? And Claude 3 was very neutral and said it is not alive while Claude 4 says it strongly prefers continued existence. People may attribute it to the AI training methods like RLHF that makes it mimics what human would say. But would it even matter if it’s sentient or not if it behaves like an independent sentient entity
