This is spot on. I tried to make my game using AI images but I realized, as you point out, that I was cheating myself out of the fun part of making a game. I love to draw and paint, and even if the result looks nothing like other professional games, maybe that isn't so bad. At least it will look like something that I have made and that reflects my own taste and personality, it will look unique. I'm working on replacing all the generated images and it feels great and I have a much easier time identifying with and being proud of what I made.
