Hopefully this is a good place to ask this.
I want to defend artists, but I came across an argument I struggle against.
Is AI art sort of like a lightbulb to the candle maker. Candle makers complained their job would be taken away, their art would be destroyed or that they would lose financial stability. However, that didn't stop light bulbs, and today, they're extremely important. Is it possible that AI image generators are following the same route?
When I defend artists, they say it's just the candlemaker crying. What do you think?
