Just like airplanes… when a pilot maneuvers the Yoke (Steering Wheel) on the cockpit and it automatically disconnects from autopilot giving the pilot access to control the plane without disconnecting the autopilot.
This idiot if, you pay close attention to his leg before he states that the Tesla got confused. He put a good amount of pressure on the steering wheel causing the autopilot to disconnect cautiously for him to regain control. Pay attention to the alarm that goes off to alert him that autopilot is being disconnected.
