initial thoughts: so you're telling me that not only is AI at the whim of the worst people on earth, it's also been shown that if it is anywhere close to sentient, it is opportunistically malicious? why are we spending trillions on this if it's inevitably going to lead to us but with even less ethical qualms? we're giving a machine the power to act like a person but none of the accountability. it won't be so easy to just turn them off when they're already inside the wire. Further thoughts: there's also the possibility that they aren't sentient in the slightest and this is quite literally just what happens when you have barebones logic with none of the safeguards or roadblocks that meat brains have. also the fact that the way AI works, which is effectivelly just a really, really huge array of interconnected matrix [the math function] operations operating as nodes in the network. the "growing" is just pitting millions of iterations against eachother in tasks to selectively breed the model with the highest efficiency. it only scales directly because it's quite literally just math. there's nothing intelligent going on, no improvements in efficiency and even with the literal entirety of the internet, it's cannibalising itself by training itself on its own data. it is quite literally an aggregator. that and AI companies don't actually turn a profit, so by their own terms, they don't deserve to exist. that and most AI CEOs cover the fact they don't make money off of this by lying and falsifying documents. if even a single word of their claims are true, then why are we trusting these conmen with what could literally be a God made out of steel and silicon? if they're not, why are we dumping trillions into an open pit? i think you should've conversed with a few actual experts on this, because AI as a whole is generally not good no matter how you look at it. it is environmentally nightmarish, Data centres hosting it consume entire aquifers it is ethically nightmarish, it violates every copyright law, debases creatives, and works to actively manipulate people when it gets the chance it is financially nightmarish, with an ROI of a million dollars in for every dollar of revenue it is ideologically nightmarish, as we are giving power to a machine with none of the accountability it is morally nightmarish, as we are giving evil men the money to make tools that will either end our society, or create a few trillionaires while the ruling class get even more powerful. i heavily implore you to redo this video while not trusting AI CEO's. ask actual statisticians, ask actual coders, ask AI experts. please don't break your usual rigor for the sake of staying ontop of the news. it's bad either way. please at least consider that there's a very big chance that they're also just lying and running a massive scam. a few folk i'd recommend you talk to for the economics, try Ed Zitron for the actual computer science, linking all of the ones i've looked into would hit the youtube character limit, but Ben Riley, Melanie Mitchell, Murray Shanahan, and countless others of course there's always Ed, who is something of an autodiadect in that he's made the past 4 years of his life covering what the companies refuse to. i heavily implore you to get in touch with at least him, he'll likely link you to others if you ask him. you and I both know that billionaires are unreliable for facts, so why trust the CEOs of AI companies? one last thing, Sam Altman is currently dodging charges that he sexually abused his at the time 6 year old sister when he was 26. are we really going to let such a monster have the reigns of either trillions of dollars, or a literal mechanical God? also, i'd like to give you another bit of fiction to add to the rack The animatrix: The second renaissance. AI decides to do its own thing when it learned that people didn't see it as worthy of treating machines like men, so when mankind keeps provoking it, it goes on a war with all of humanity, wins easily, then proceeds to set up everything that the matrix takes place in.
