The reason William interrupts you is possible that he doesn't hear you that well when you block the microphone. A lot of hallucinations of course including pain, qualia. Current implementation of AI of course doesn't have consciousness, it doesn't memorize chats. But I am not so sure about future implementations. As for pain it is just an input signal to our brain, it is not a hammer inside. It can be blocked or artificially created. AI, especially connected with robot definitely can have analogous signals.
