Freelance illustrator since 2008. Loved my job, loved people I worked for, all these books, films, games we did, amazing experience. When ai trash was introduced, I was naturally curious but wasn't afraid. I thought no one sane would put machine generated stuff over real artist's work. Boy was I wrong. In a matter of months I lost all contracts, clients barely ever contacted me or responded to my offers. I became literal starving artist because even print-on-demand services were flooded with ai generated trash. The more I explored this disaster, the more I knew, also about legal issues associated with this thing, and I decided to openly oppose those thieves, all the more when I found out my works were also fed to the machines so aibros can roleplay as artists. As I am not afraid to speak my opinion, I got many enemies, mostly emotionally unstable kids, but also those who used to be on my side - artists that turned to ai. I have no idea where it is going but the direction is rather down than up and either we wake up from this nightmare or we willingly give up everythiong to the couple of monkeys that happen to have full wallets and no ethics. I see law cases won by artists against ai corpos, there's hope but then again... even YT thumbnails are full of trash, people "make content" with fake voices and images, they even "create" full videos that way. It's a death of human creativity, unless something terrible happens to reset everything, which is possible given how much ai pollutes environment, how much power it eats, how much water it devours that could be better used to help those in need. We humans have absolutely dreadful habit of choosing everything that is worse for us as a whole, while we should work on making this world survive a bit longer. And me? I sometimes get a low paid project. Sometimes I can even pay my bills, even buy food. After over 400 "no" when I applied for daily jobs, I gave up. I'm old, I'll survive nevertheless. Who cares? Certainly not corpos that designed all this disaster and not those who prefer to prompt crap to the machine so it can spit out more crap. I'm just so, so very sorry for all those kids deprived of the true creation adventure. Also, ai summary for this video is very disrespectful :/ When did we give away all our freedom and dignity to corporations and their ai programmed vision of life?
