I think a YouTube-style monetisation opt-in system might be the best way forward because I don't think AI art will be going anywhere anytime soon. I somewhat identify as an artist and when my friends see some of my art I did years ago, they sometimes ask why I never pursued it more; my most common response is that I have never felt it to be a strong career choice for me personally because of how precarious it is and how difficult it is for so many artists to make a decent living. I know this only makes it worse, to some extent, but maybe, ironically, AI art opens up other avenues such as the YouTube-style monetisation opt-in system I mentioned above, which might be able to lift the average artist's income up drastically. I am also wondering if some sort of "human-made" market has become an opportunity. Are there people out there who would be willing to pay a premium for "human-made" art? Maybe. The problem is that people need images, they need them fast and they need lots of different variations. Humans can't keep up with that, so AI is quite necessary.
