AI Bros are the types who confuse infatuation with love: It's one thing to be fascinated by the ability to generate images and such with complex algorithms, which, even as an anti-AI-Bro myself, pretty neat to think about. It's another thing entirely to mistake a fascinating thing that can be done with some sort of miracle or next step in societal advancement - which is what the AI defenders have done.
To them it's so cool it simply must be some sort of amazing, important thing, but in reality it's just "kinda neat" with a helluva lot of drawbacks attached (which they conveniently ignore).
Edit: I also met and have art from a guy with no arms who drew with his feet, and his art was incredibly detailed and precise, far beyond what I have been able to accomplish as a fully-abled artist all these years later. Ableist pro-AI crap annoys me to no end, since, on some small level, it COULD be tailored to help someone in that boat, but this is NEVER what they advocate for; they just want to make weird pictures with zero effort, zero willingness to commit to the fact of being bad at something when you start.
